That is the last 3 digits of the part number I believe. Put it on Ebay and advertise it as a '69 Z/28 coil and you will get a pretty penny for it. Bazillions of them out there.
I knew it was not a date code but was actally trying to get some feedback for the lettering/numbers. Someone sent me a web-site and it shows the coil was used for '68 thru '74 mostly SB 327 and 350 motors.
