Default rear axle questions

Where is the code? Mine is covered in grease and I haven't been able to find the code yet. I will be degreasing tomorow but I am just wondering where this code is.

Also, are the stock strut rods adjustable or have mine been updated?? There is an adjusting spot in the middle.

Default Re: rear axle questions (tworottiedogs)

The code is stamped on the underside, in front of where the rear spring mounts. Tough to see with the spring in place. It's a series of numbers and letters giving you the assembly date, plant and shift info, and the ORIGINAL ratio (2 or 3 letter code as I recall). That being said, just because it was originally a 3.55 rear for example, that doesn't mean that sometime in the past, the ratio wasn't changed. The original camber rods were adjustable with the eccentric inboard bolt only. If you have adjustments in the center, they have been replaced with aftermarket pieces. Hope this helps. Chuck
