Has anyone converted a side exhaust rear filler panel back to a rear exhaust panel? My 68 had a butch job done on the rear filler panel and I am not sure where the end seams are. I purchased a 68 rear exhaust panel but the cut-outs are only a half round. Should there be another half round on the rear quarters and if not, can I purchase them? I am trying to find a picture of where the quarter half round is, so if my car was originally a rear exhaust car, I can grind out the matted fiberglass. My other big dilema is to find all the reverse light stuff. Owning a 68 with all this one year only stuff is a pain in the you know what.

1. Should there be another half round on the rear quarters? = Yes the other half of the exhaust opening is in the rear quarter. you should be able to plainly see this from the back side of the panel, as the trim piece screws into a lip at the edge, unless something more extreme was done. I would post you some pics, but photobucket is down for maint right now.
2. As for the reverse lights, depending on the butcher, all of the wiring should be there from the original harness. The pigtails and light assemblies may cost a little more though i beleive they are still available. I take it the filler panel he put in place was from a 69? Are you keeping the side pipes?
3. As for the one year stuff. cheer up, you only had to deal with a few of the 50 plus possible items so, and thats what make s our year car the best

If Photobucket comes back on line, Ill post up some pics for ya

You should be able to find the remains of the exhaust bezel cutout in your quarters since side exhaust wasn't an option in 68. Unless they changed to a 69 quarter, the patch should be there.
