Replace door pins 1980 corvette
Finally i recently bought a new circute board for the cluster gauges when i installed the board and turned on the car the fuel gauge just turned all the way past full. what could be the reasons that the gauges dont work and if its the wiring what color connects the fuel.
Thanks
The door pins aren't that hard. Support the door with a jack or something to to the weight off of the hinges. You'll have to grind half of the upper pin head off to get it to clear the fender, and just tap it up and out. Replace the bushing and slide the new pin in. You may have to grind it's head down too. The bottom pin is easier, but same process.
As for the locks, you better hope you have small hands or access to someone with small hands. You'll have to remove the door panels, unbolt the latch mechanism and let it slide down to give you more room. Reach in, and un-clip the rod that connects to the door lock, and using a pair of needle nose pliers slide the clip that holds the locks in off of the lock. The lock will push right out. Reverse the process to re-install, after you transfer the arms to the back of the new locks.
