Harmonic Balancer Install Question
When reinstalling the harmonic balancer is there a secret to keeping the crank from spinning?
I plan on using the install tool from Autozone but tThe bolt takes a lot of torque and obviously if the crank spins you are not getting the torque.

Use one wrench on the end of the hollow threaded piece (it has flats on both sides on the outer end) and the other on the nut that pulls the balancer on. Grease the inside of the balancer and the threads on the balancer installer, it'll make the job a WHOLE lot easier.

FYI, unless you get a good one (about $75), you're better off renting the Auto Zone ones, even if you build a few engines every year. The threads on the cheaper ones are bad about galling after several uses, even with plenty of grease - kinda like the Harbor Freight balancer pullers. I get those on sale for $6 and they're generally good for about 10 pulls.
