Default What motor is this????

Numbers off pad in front of passenger side head.
V0808TJW CA1106430 off the head J84 462624


Please help me out I know its not the orginal I got lied to when i bought and now I am trying to make heads or tails out of what i have???

That head number was used from '75-86, 76cc smog head, so by the date code J84, I would say that they were cast in Sept-08-1984.

The block suffix code TJX was used in '72 for a 307, '73 and '78 in 350s for trucks. What is the block casting number and date code?

The CA number is probably the VIN number.

Well it looks like it could be a '72 307 or a '73, '74 or 1980 4 bolt 350 from a van or truck.

Find the casting number and date code on the block to pin this down.

I found the casting numbers on the block the only problem is they are unreadable it looks like someone intentionally damaged the at some point in time.



The date code is G289

Can anyone tell me what the block is that I have does it have 4 bolt mains and what type of pistons did it orginally have... I just want to know if this motor is possibly worth trying to build for more power
