This is almost the final steps in my 77 column rebuild. I have all three parts but I don't know how to attach them together. I know that the holes align with the pegs(red arrow), but whats next? Are there screws or tabs that go on the pegs? Glue? Smash the pegs over the parts?
The pegs are down with some type of heat, really melted, not smashed. This joins the parts of the horn button. Heat a metal rod and just melt them enough to hold them tight.
Thanks, but the pegs are some type of metal.. What type of heat something likea soldering iron? I'm certainly not firing up the torch my wife would finally have enough evidence to have me commited

PM Jim Shea. He knows those things very well.
Do you have a link or a part number for that ring? Thanks.
The part is packaged by Corvette America
part number 4668-20
there's another number that was applied by the vendor I can't remember 46610
it's called "77-81 Horn Button" as you can see in the picture it does not have the emblem.
Hope this helps
H
Helps a lot. I have the emblem but too many people tried to just yank my button off so those crush stubs are trash and I can't keep the two together anymore. Thanks for the help.
I believe that the posts on the black piece have small holes in their ends. You stack the three parts together. Then you can take the end of a phillips screwdriver and twist and shove the end into the holes. You should be able to expand the very end of the posts to hold the parts together.
Or you can place a dab of JB Weld on each of the posts and be done with it.
