68 Windsield wiper motor question
Once installed in the car it will not work unless I supply 12 volts to the brown wire that energizes the wiper solenoid on the back of the tach.
I realize that basically all the dash switch does is switch grounds for low and high speed wipe and washer functions, but what makes the brown wire go hot when the system is turned on?
The wiper motor has 3 leads a red, black and white which plug into a polarized plug in the wire loom with red to red, black to black and white to brown. There is also a plug for the washers, a 3 wire flat plug and a seperate single black ground wire that attaches to the motor body.
What am I missing here? The brown wire is not going hot when the system is turned on.
Sorry for the long post but if any of you 68 owners have been down this road, I would sure appreciate your input to solve this one.
