Time for a new distributor?
It may be worn out...
6 months ago I reshimmed it from .035" to .007". After reshimming my timing mark was rock solid, no movement. I checked it again today because of some tuning issues and its bouncing around again. After doing a forum search on transient timing marks I've found the breaker plate to be loose.
If I fix the loose plate is there anything else that could be worn out? The lateral shaft play seems to be OK.
