I have a 69 that I can't get the brake warning light to work. I've noticed on the electrical diagram that there is a brake failure warning switch on the fire wall that is missing. Where do I get that part I don't seem to see it in any of the catalogs. The bulb in the warning light is good and the switch on the parking brake is also good. I'm lost. Any ideas. Thanks
the switch is integrated into the ballancing valve block. Its a brass gizmo that the brake lines all attach to from the MC, there is a switch built into it that gives a ground to the light in the event of brake pressure offset in 1 line
Did your brakes fail and the light didn't come on?
Here's a picture. The brown wire (below the alternator) goes to the switch on the valve which is mounted to the top of the frame. To check to see if the wiring is OK, remove the wire connector from the switch and short it to ground (key on). If the wiring and bulb are good, the light will come on.
