Default starter rebuild

My original starter ain't cranking like it used to. Can anyone recommend a good shop for me to send it for a rebuild? Many thanks!

Your local yellow pages under automotive electrical as a starting place.
You got a location, your profile is empty.

Thanks Scott, the rebuild is so simple any automotive electrical shop can do it? I update it, but my location is Boca Raton, Florida.

Tons of starter shops around, you shouldn't have any problem. OK, you have the NCRS thing going on. If this is original, it can be a high dollar piece for your '70, make sure you get that numbered starter back and if the solenoid is original, you want that back too.

Default Hd V. Ld

First lets look at the space 'OR' lack of space between the switch and the starter feild post coming out of the case. If there is not any space{3/4 in.} between the switch and field post, then it`s a LD {light duty} starter. Is so, now is the time to get a HD starter {heavy duty} The $$ cost is probably the same anyway.

Yes, it is the original starter, so my whole concern is keeping everything to NCRS specs when it is rebuilt. I'll take a look for a good local shop I can trust. Thanks for the advice Scott and Ironcross.

If you are looking to keep the car original. I would recommend joining the NCRS. The Driveline has lots of vendors that can make sure that it is restored to the correct condition. If you take it to a local vendor they may not restore it to correct specs. Just my opinion.. Dave
