Whine at start up
When I start my car I hear a whine for a few seconds. It sort of sounds like the whine you hear with a motor that has a roots type blower. Only problem is I don’t have a blower.
Could this be the front pump on the transmission possibly starving for fluid? It’s a turbo 350

Could this be the front pump on the transmission possibly starving for fluid? It’s a turbo 350Can you elaborate a bit? When you stand beside the car, does it come from the front or back? When you stand in front or rear of the car, does it come from any side in particular?
Maybe have someone else start it while you listen and see if you can get any more information and maybe a little bit more about the sound. Roots blowers to me just sound like air moving fast. I can't imagine that sound from a transmission.

I think it is coming from the tranny it’s hard to tell. Maybe a gear drive would have made more sense on the sound, it’s just hard to describe a sound with a keyboard.

I have had the car for about a year and have not touched the tranny. That may need attention
but I have only driven it about 500 miles and the PO said he had just done a service on all of the fluids. I know that none of us has ever been lied to by the PO have we?
