im installing a new exhaust system from corvette central and i noticed that the exhaust is as far back as it will go(or at least i think), and the tips stick out from the bezel about 2 inches. Is this correct or are they supposed to be flush? If anyone has some pics it would be helpful
i had the same problem. i cut the tubes on the chrome extensions and then used an exhaust pipe expander(harbor freight) to enlarge the end where it fit over the exhaust pipe. on my car the tubes ended up about 1/4" long. i used a tack weld to hold them in place. they extend about 3/4" now.

On mine when I was installing the tips I used some never seize lubricant and was able to work the tips in further to get them to a point where I liked the way they looked. You might try some never seize and see if that helps them slide in further.
On a side note, can you see what is causing them to stop at that point. Is it hitting something on the pipe? Are the tips where they connect to the exhuast pipes split so they can slide on easily?
Mine extend out about an inch. Factory mufflers have 'nub on then that aligns the tips. is there a 'nub' on your muffler pipe thats preventing the tips from sliding on further?
Can you slide the undercar mid section pipe further forward into the downpipe?
