Ported Vacuum switches
I bought my car (1980) without any of them installed, now I need them to finish putting the stock intake, carb, emissions stuff back on. KENS80V was nice enough to email me a diagram for the engine vacuum hose routing. I see 4 TVS listed on it, which I'm guessing means Temp. Vac. Switch? When I look up ported vac sw. on Advanced Auto parts website, they list several that are for my car, but I noticed that between the different manufacturers, they all only have 4 different colored switches, blue, white, purple and black. If I need all four colors, can anyone tell me which one goes where and where they are installed?
The diagram lists:
Distr TVS
EFE TVS
EGR TVS
TVS (shown in the air cleaner)
Those control vacuume to the distributor, EGR and EFE valves based on engine temp
the one in the air cleaner is different, it controls vac to the little flapper in the air cleaner horn to direct hot air from the stove pipe on the exhaust manifold into the air cleaner to warm up the carb quickly.
I am looking for that one
Hmmm...the one oin the bottom of the air cleaner is drawn weird. I can't tell if the Yellow vac line goes thru it, but I wouldn't think so, doesn't make sense for it to.
Do you have the temp sensor in the bottom of the air cleaner? It should say AC on top and have 2 nipples on the bottom.
That sounds right. If your going thru all the BS to do this, go ahead and check Dr Rebuild, he has color correct vac line sets and diagrams for all that stuff, might even have the TVS for the air cleaner

The four colors, blue, white, purple, and black are the temperature at witch they open and close. NAPA is the best source for these. Use caution. Canadian cars use different temp TVSS than Cal, or 49 state cars.
Two shown in the air cleaner two shown in the thermostat housing.
Hope this helps,
