you may try adjusting the "padded" bolt on the latch or maybe shimming the latch. if you remove the head liner (a couple of screws and some plastic snap-tite type fasteners) you will see how. there are a few minor adjustments that can be made to the latch system. as well as the center guides.

Just make sure you don't back the screws out too much or you'll get air/water leaking if the seal isn't too secure.
How's the weather stripping on the top's?
Don't know what year car you have!!!! For 1971 the instuctions for adjusting the roof panels are on page 1B-45 in the GM Chassis Service Manual. LOTS of info for the $.
