Dish vs Dome
I'm looking at getting some AFR 195 Eliminators for my 383 build. I want it to run on 87 octane so I'd like to keep compression around 9.5. Am I better off getting dished pistons and smaller combustion chambers on the heads or large combustion chambers and flat tops or domed pistons? Or does it even really make a difference?

You'll get the most power from a small chamber with a reverse dome piston, then medium size chamber with a flat top piston and the dome piston comes in last due to flame travel. These have all been dyno tested with identical compression ratios and the results are in the order I listed.

It is much more cost effective to build a motor that can get over 20 mpg on the highway on super unleaded than POS getting 14 mpg on a good day running 87
