I just ordered some dual spals and was looking into wiring harness. What you get for the money on an assembled kit is sad. I can find the relays for about 3 bucks a piece and all of the other parts for about 25 more dollars. What I am having trouble finding is a wiring socket for the standard 5 prong relay. Does any one know where to get one? I would like just a plug that plugs into the relay with wires sticking out. I know I could just put spade connectors on but I would prefer it to be a clean install. I have checked several places but I’m not sure I am looking in the right place. Can one of you guys lend a hand here. Thanks
I found them at summit, don’t know why I didn’t think to look there. I have been all over electronics websites for hours. I went to summit and found them in about 5 minutes.

How much are the ones at Summit? I found the 5 prong sockets at Partsexpress.com.
THE ONLY relay with any power to it at ALL, in these older GM cars that seems to have any reliability to it is the horn relay/power dist point....I find the HVAC blower relay plugs burnt up, the plugs failed, even years ago, let alone now some 25 years later....I think you are best off soldering the wires to the relay direct, and get done with it....
maybe not look as pretty for you all perfectionists, but I preferr durability, and I find all the modern junk plugs are made overseas with thin metal contacts, and inferior plastics used, they melt easy and for the most part the wire is thin....your BEST solution is find a good plug in a junkyard if that is what you want to do....
there is a difference in the wiring harness i think you were looking at and the less costly "bosch" type available for $3-$5, namely the weather seal at the relay. and since that connection is weather sealed, causes the need for lengths of wiring to be supplied. not saying that the asking price doesn't seem a little proud.
could not find another source when i was in the market - got to be one for some price competition somewhere
i know the $5 units survive long periods on factory vehicles

DB,
I found a dual relay assembly (2 relays 30 amp and plugs) for $8.00 and I have the inline fuse holders already. I just hate to pay prices for a kit if I can piece it out and save over half the money. I just ordered every thing I needed including a fuse block for $42.00. I could not find a “quality” kit for less than $80.00 and then it only had 1 relay.

I’m not sure on the weather resistance of the assembly I bought so you may be on to something there. I will be mounting the relays and a fuse block in a stainless waterproof box that I have lying around so I’m ok on that end.
