Transmission advice
Hey guys, my current setup is a ~350 hp 350 w/ TH400 3.70 rear gears. I have recently acquired two overdrive transmissions: a 2004R and a NWC T5 out of an 86 astrovan w/ 4.3L V6. I would really like to put the T5 in the vette, but I know in all reality it isn't rated for v8 torque.
Have any of you guys had good luck with a NWC T5 behind a 350? I've read quite a bit on the net saying that they just won't hold up, but never seen a single story of one failing. I'm going to use one or the other. What do you guys think?
