Locating Wiring short
If I put a fuse in the courtesy/cig lighter fuse holder it instantly blows. So am wondering what common places this circuit may short, what route through the car the wiring runs, what else may be on this circuit, any tips on locating or narrowing down where the short may be, etc. I have replaced the curtousy light entirely because the old one was cracked up, I hoped this would resolve this issue as well but didn't. Also checked the cig lighter and wiring at the lighter seem intact and in good shape. 71 convertible btw.

The cig lighter is a common one, the pin gets pushed against the floor sometimes. The Ctsy light timer is also a common culprit, little orange box behind the passenger side dash. It will not be the door switches, they switch a ground and are supposed to get grounded. The buzzer for the seat belts would do it also
