Hi,
I just installed a edlebrock cam and manafold performer kit,and Headman headers on my stock 75 350.It still not jumping like I want it too.I have a Rochester 600cfm 4 barrel .I was thinking of replacing it with a Holly 4 barrel 600 cfm.I was told the Holly is better.Any opinions?...

They never made such a thing. All Quadrajets were 750 or 800 CFM with the exception of some 80's small engine smog carbs that had limiters in the air valve opening. Even these limiters could be removed to restore the 750 rating.

If this carburetor is of stock calibration it will now be very lean. What is the jet/rod combo? How is the ignition set up? Tuning what you have will be much less expensive than buying new equipment.

Holley makes generic stuff. You could get one for a few hundred dollars that would be a little closer than the Quadrajet. Or, you could open up the Rochester and see what the tune up is in it. You would be surprised what adding a couple of jet sizes can do. You can get a rebuild kit for under $50. Jets are about $10.

It's up to you. Do you just want to just slap substandard parts on it or do you want to be a hot rodder.

Even if you bought a Holley, out of the box it probably won't be tuned properly for your car/engine. So you'd have to go through the same process as with the Q-Jet. Might as well save your money, stay with what you have and get it running like it should. And I have a Holley on mine.
Cheers,
Pete

You've made a good start, but beyond the cam and manifold, I'd suggest looking at the cylinder heads... There are Vortec heads available, that'll wake up your engine BIG TIME... They're pretty cheap, a weekend job to install, and will be a big difference in the breathing capabilities of your car.

The other aspect to look at is the exhaust... No matter how much air can pull in, if you can't get rid of the exhaust, you'll be no further ahead then where you are now...

JMHO.
