Default Time for new tires??

I need to replace my tires. Currently running 15" TT2 with 235/60 all around. I want firestone Indy 500's. They only come in 235/60 or 255/60, I really wanted 245/60, my concern is the front rubbing. Is anyone running 255's on their 68 or 69????????? I know this has been discussed but couldn't find a post specific to the 68 fitment issue.

Thanks

how about getting 2 255's. put them in the front and see if they rub. if they do put them in back and put 235's in front. if they don't put 2 more 255's in back.

That is what I have just been considering, I'm going to buy them online from The Tire Rack, guess it won't hurt to buy the two and try them then order the others if I can't find someone who has experience with the 255s up front.

My 75 Vert had 255's on the front and they rubbed when you turned the wheel lock-to-lock. I went down to a 235 (Goodyear Eagle GTII) and have had -0- problem!! I had Firestone Indy 500 RWL....after about 1 year, all 4 tire's lettering began to CRACK (like vericose veins)..FYI

I have a 1970 BB car and installed 255/60/15 T/As on the rear with no problem. On the front, they came too close to the fender lips. Newer years that came with those up front had the lips trimmed from their front fenders from the factory.

Didn't want to trim the fenders so installed 245/60/15 T/As on the front. They fit with no interferrence problems.

My 69 has 245/60 front...255/60 rear...use to have 255/60 all around on the 78...had to trim front fender lip to clear...same as factory did if option 255 tires were ordered ...
