Replacing sunvisors on 73 - HELP!

Default Replacing sunvisors on 73 - HELP!

Please tell me what I need to know regarding installing new sunvisors on my 73. Need to replace with correct madrid grain I have on order from Ecklers. Heard it can be a PITA!

should be pretty straight forward. unscrew old ,put in new.

Heard issues about them drooping, not being even, etc. Anyone with experience in doing this?

The drooping is cause by the internal support in the sunvisor bending/breaking. For me this was because the sunvisor and/or support rods had considerable rust that would not allow the sunvisor to pivot easily. If you kept the sunvisor interior pivot areas and the rods free of rust, ie lightly lubricated, you'll have no problem.

Make certain you keep the old sunvisors. The driver's side should have the starting instruction label which I understand is not made as a repo in the correct material. You may want to installed the label on the new sunvisor for show/judging purposes.

Ordered a repro label which I was told was woven fiberglass like original. We'll see when it arrives.
