Default coolant temperature sender connector question

I got a TS6469 temperature sensor from Napa and verified that it has the correct resistance versus temperature profile for my 69. The problem is it has a post instead of a spade connector. What kind of connector is supposted to attach to that? I need a little extra length in the cable anyway so I could have a short wire with a spade on one side and whatever on the other.

This is the part and it sort of shows the post:

The correct sender for a 69 does have a post and the connector looks like a "round spade" connector, if you will. If your 69 has a spade connector, then someone cut the correct one off and replaced it with the spade.

Look for that connector at NAPA or other auto supply store. As I recall, it does not have a 90 degree bend....just a straight, push-on female connector. If you bought it from NAPA, they should be able to come up with the details on it.

The female type 56 connector on the wire is the same. The plastic shield that it goes into has a cutout so it slides over the pin terminal at a 90 degree angle instead of slides in line over the male terminal on the sender. A pin type shield will work on both.

Ok, I see how this works. There is a spade connector on the harness but it has been bent slightly to slide over the pin at 90 degrees. Thanks everyone!
