Default Brake line replacement

Any tips or things i should look out for when replacing the rubber lines going to the front calipers and the steel ones going to the rear calipers? 75 vette

Just make sure that you have the right wrenches for the job and that you replace the copper washers with new ones. Old brake lines tend to twist when you try to remove them so spray them with PB Blaster for several days before trying to remove them. Work the fittings back and forth if you feel any resistance to break down the corrosion on the threads. Don't be in too much of a hurry or you will trash a line and be in for much more work and $.

Check the flared ends on the steel tubes to make sure they are flared correctly and not crooked. I just fought a new leaky rear line, I couldn't get it to stop leaking. Removed it and looked it over close and the darn flare was off. The steel tubing was so hard that I couldn't make a new double flared end on it either.

This may be obvious, but attach the rubber lines to the caliper first and tighten before attaching to the brake lines.
