Hood latch release

The hood latch on the passenger side of my '82 doesn't release. The drivers side releases ok. I read on this forum about taking the side vent openings off from the fender and running my arm up into the hood latch area. Is there anything on the passenger side that will prevent me from reaching the latch area? Thanks from way2low

I changed the subject "title" from my earlier post to get more exposure to my problem. I'm sure there is an answer out there for me.
