A friend of mine has a 82' with the crossfire injection and he can't get it to run. It threw a code saying MAP sensor error so he replaced the MAP sensor and still it doesn't run and the same code comes up. Any ideas?
Just a thought. my 88 kept showing a MAF code. replaced several sensors, took to shops 3 , last shop and $2500 later a bad o2 sensor (It showed good on codes) was causing a eh er... bla bla bla.... I know they are different Thought it might be the same problem..
Hi,
MAP sensors throw code 33 (electrical fault) or 34 (vacuum fault). I don't think the MAP could cause a no start condition. There are a number of things that can cause the motor to not start. Is fuel spraying from the injectors?, if no, fuel pump might be bad. The crossfire will not start if no oil pressure is detected, is there enought oil in the motor? is the oil pressure sensor working? The anti theft system will lock out the starter if it's in alarm mode. Are you getting spark? The ECM (computer) might be fried. You didn't mention if the motor cranks or when it was last running, but these are a few basic areas that could cause the motor to not start.
Good luck,
Tom

Changing the Map sensor will not make the code go away. You have to disconnect the battery, or remove the fuse to the ECM to clear the memory. I don't think the Map sensor will keep it from running. A vacuum leak will also make it pull that code.
Do you have fire at the plugs. Are the injectors spraying fuel when you turn the key on? Need more info!
