The car has not been driven since for a week after replacing carburetor. This moring I attempted to start it up, she refused to run. The motor rotates, but will not run. I held the accelerator to the floor, and it gave a slight hint that it wanted to run, but then shut off. I have replaced the wires, rotor, cap, and alternator all within the past six months. I have not replaced the coil or the module. Is it possibble that one or both of these units could be the problem? Any advise is greatly welcomed!
Re: Engine rotates, but will not start! (Rufus 81 vette)
there is a small valve inside the carb that could be your problem if it starts up with starter fluid but wont stay running... if you cant get it to start, using starter fluid but it turns over its ignition. i dont know to much about them... to me they are like black box's... you cant fix em just replacem though some one else on here probably has the answer your looking for... sorry that i dont
Re: Engine rotates, but will not start! (Rufus 81 vette)
The car was running rough until replacement of the carb. After replacing it was a 100% better. The check engine like would occasionally flash when parking or at start-up. I had suspect that the o2 sensor and egr needed to be replaced. (Prior to the new carb, the check engine light would flash..but I attributed to the old carb.)
