Default bumper issues

im in the middle of a body off resto on a 68 and i dropped the body back on and the front bumper sticks out way too far. what would cause this? im thinking of trying to slide the body forward a little but i dont think thats going to be enough. also i ordered the front bumper from paragon, could it be the bumper? i would really appreciate any advise, i am at a dead stand still because of this and its driving me crazy.

On my 71' there are slotted holes in the outer bumper braces to move the bumper fore and aft. Same with the center brace. I guese it's always possible that you don't have the body centered on the mounts.

All the bolt holes---for the frame extentions, the bumper crossmember, and the center bumper brace--have some play in them so adjustment is possible. If the body is centered over the wheels in the wheel wells, then I doubt the body is too far back. I ran into the same problem after replacing my front clip, but was able to adjust the bumper brace and crossmember to get a perfect fit.
