Default Fuel pump for a 76 vette

Would any 350 fuel pump fit my system?Or do I need the oem stock one?I have a new 350 fuel pump that has a single fuel inlet line.On the 76 it has the one that has the main fuel inlet and a smaller line that goes back to the tank.I just bought this vette for a summer project and need to get running.I need to drive it through back yard to the end of the driveway so I can get it towed home. The back yard is still wet and damp.Thanks.

An aftermarket mech pump without the return line will work - as long as its pressure is not too high where you would need a regulator. You would be better off using an original type pump with the return line as a long term solution.

A stock AC/Delco pump correct for your car with the return line has a lot of benefit - the return line systems really do work well. Those of us with cars that had no return line from the factory go to a lot of trouble to fabricate and install return line systems, so don't disable your return when all you have to do is install the right pump.
