Hey yall,
Just wanted to ask an opinion. My Vette was originally silver, and I want to get it repainted that color. But, I was thinking a new silver, like Sebring Silver Metallic. Any comments?
Light Pewter Metalic is an AWESOME color. I almost had mine painted that color, but...well just look at my sig. How can anyone in their right mind pass up that color? :blueangel: (Im not bashing you, just a joke)
My vette was originaly medium saddle metalic. Was repainted Mille Miglia Red some time before I bought it. I repainted it earlier this year, and was torn between going back to original color (yuck) or back to Mille Miglia again (I like Red, but not so hot about orangey Mille Miglia). Then talk to others like you are doing, and consense was to paint it whatever I liked.
Long story short (or not so short), I painted it Torch Red and I am very happy with the color choice. Am smiling ear to ear everytime I drive the car.
Go with whatever makes you happy. It's your car and your money!
Cool,
Both you guys have GREAT looking Vettes.
I really want to do it silver. I think it will be nice. I really like black, but I want something easier to take care of for awhile :)
Thanks :D

I know the feeling. Black is the original color on mine, but I think when I repaint (some year) I am going to go to a dark silver or pewter.
also considering a stinger hood with black highlights, but that's a whole different story. ;)
I personally love silver and pewter. Really seems to stand out "BUT" and theres always got to be one of these don't there. Alot of people have brought to my attention and it seems to be true from personal experiance that silver and grey colors tend to go unnoticed on the road. Esspecially ay intersections and the like. Had someone back right into me once and I was parked. Of coarse the car I was in was gray at the time. Ask around but I do agree with everyone else. Personal preference is the key here. Good luck in your decision and and post pics when your done.
Got to admit that pewter is a magnificent choice for a chrome bumper car.
But if you want to be seen - Corvette Bright Yellow. It's like you're :smash:
the other inattentive drivers.
I would agree to keeping the same color, but you might have to go to a different paint. All the St. Louis Sharks were painted with acrylic lacquer which is no longer available in a lot of places due to the emissions. The newer paints are acrylic enamels or urethanes and meet Fed ozone safeguards.
:)
If I ever say you on the road, I'd get out of the way like you where an ambulance with your lights on... I'd be worried about pissing you off by getting in your way. :jester
