I have a 15/16 inch front sway bar and 7 leaf rear spring on my '68. Did smallblocks come with this setup?
Also I am having a bit of body roll in the back when I am cornering, will a rear sway bar help this? The car has been fitted with one before, but it has been removed...
There can be many reasons for excessive body roll. Firstly are your shocks in good condition? They are more likely to be the cause of the body roll you are complaining about. Or it could be worn bushings allowing the rear wheel to tuck under during cornering. A rear sway bar is not necessarily a good thing since with it the break away of the rear of your car happens suddenly, without it, its much more progressive. I would check your bushings and try fitting good gas shocks first.
Thanks... Thats sounds like a good idea. How do I check the chocks/bushings? I can't feel any play when I have it up on a lift.
There is a set of KYB Gas-a-Just shocks on my car. Age unknown. Bushings in front looks new and the trailing arm shims also looks new
I don't know if the body roll is excessive. My Suspension feels very stiff and it dont happen on normal driving. It was felt very clear when I was on a track last summer though...
