Speedo gear help!
Since I changed my rear diif ratio from 2.87 to 3.73 my speedometer reads about 15-20 mph faster than I'm actually going. I know I need to change the gear on the speedo down by the transmission. Where does one get a new gear and how do you know which one to change to? Also is it very difficult to do? Any help would be appreciated.

I Just Changed From 3:07 To 3:54 I Called Patc Transmission 1 888 877 1008 They Figured Out The Gear I Needed Its Not Difficult To Change Order A New O-ring To Seal The Piece When You Pull It Out Of The Trans And Check Your Trans Mount While Your At It

Corvette Central also has all the different color gears. Page 147 of cat. Call them and they can tell you which gear to replace it with. If I remember right going down one color gets you 1 to 1.5 miles per hour but I'm sure others will give you more precise information.

Dont be suprised if you need to change the drive gear as well, the $hitty part of "that" job is that the transmission extension housing needs to come off for that. Good luck. Peace,,, Moosie
