Keep it. Welcome to the forum. We'd love to see some pics of the Vette.
First thing is safety. Go through the brakes and suspension. Then start working on making sure everything needed for daily operation works like lights and wipers...yata, yata...
Finally, cosmetics. Fix the nagging interior issues and decide what level of body work and paint is needed.
You can find the help you need here, concerning every aspect of your new Vette.
If you think you would like a vette, I recommend that you keep the car, and assemble it. As far as C3's go, you have a GREAT starting point as far as model year and body style. Since you are already a mechanic, you should be able to do all of the work necessary to get it going.
This forum LOVES pictures, so please post some.
If you any questions, just post them here, and people will chime in. This is a great place for information.
Most of us would give our left nut (most of us aren't using them anymore anyway) to have your credentials with ASC. You're gonna have a ball working on this car and a whole lot to be proud of when you're done. Who knows, you may pass it on to your son someday; can't do that with many other cars.
My advice would be to get a few books on the subject, finish restoring it and drive it. I think you will enjoy it. If I'm wrong, call me up and sell it to me.
You have 2 reasons not to sell. It is a 69 # matching and it was your Dad's. If it was me I'd finish what he started and pass it on to your kids later.

Without a doubt....KEEP THAT CAR!!!!!!!!!
Now I really don't have a need for a #s matching car, But in your instance I would seriously consider going that route. You have the perfect candidate IMHO.
Take your time and enjoy the experiance of working on the best car to ever come out of G.M.
If you do decide to sell put me at the top of the list,PLEASE???????
Cash on the barrelhead baby!!!
