Default 1981 choke
1981 corvette choke light on dash fast idle wont kick off & choke only opens about 1/4 inch

blue (often appears green) wire comes from drivers side near alternator.

i would unhook the choke until its repaired or tie it full open

Check that the wire mentioned above is connected and hot. If it is, you need to ask Lars (v8fastcars@msn.com) for his quadrajet choke paper. It will take you though step by step. I found my '81's choke pull off coil was spinning freely on it's shaft. Whatever the problem, it's easily fixable with Lar's paper. God bless, Sensei

If the light is on then something failed, check the choke fuse
