Default Ecklers hood problem

I am working on fitting my new Ecklers L88 long style hood on my 69 vette and the hood release brackets that mount to the hood are not right.

The drivers side lines up with the metal plate and tapped holes in the hood perfect, while the other side (RH) the holes that are tapped in the metal in the hood are WAY OFF

I mean I can not get but only one to go in.

Now Ecklers tech tells me to round out my original 69 hood bracket??

And to put the bolts in at an angle

Has anyone ever had this problem?

They fit just fine on my original BB hood

I'm having problem with Ecklers radiator support. Also have a 69. Waiting to see if they'll replace it. Tony

68-69 hoods have different RH side latches than the later style. My guess is that the long hood even if it is a L88 copy, has the 71-72 style latches. You will have to modify the hood for the 69 style to fit.

I guess I am not really worried about what year latches are on my car I just want which ever year it needs to fit correctly without having to modify the latch.

If someone can tell me for sure a later year latch fits I would just buy that latch assembly.

Anyone?

Well, If you know you had a 69 on it, then it would be the 71-72 RH latch that you need and the cable. Much better than going the other way. The 69 is expensive.
