Default Radial tires '69

Just tried to mount 215 70/15 tires on eight inch rims.... not able to inflate. I am trying to get rid of my F70 15 bias ply tires that are really not fun to drive on plus they rub the inside of the front wheel well and on the frame (spring problem).. so I am thinking about going to 235X60 or 245X60 radials.... anyone have them on their cars and/or suggestions.. thanks in advance....

I also replaced F70-15 with P215/70R15 tires with no problems. If a tire changer can't get them to pop out to the rims he either doesn't know what he's doing or the tires have been stacked and compressed for an extended period of time.

The 215/70 is a direct replacement for the F70-15 so there's no reason it won't work.

If the F70's are rubbing, going to a 60 series will rub even worse. You need to get that problem fixed or you'll continue with tire rub.

There was no way that the 215's were gonna pop out... must have been stacked for a long time?? I called Diamondback and they said the tire has been discontinued (Firestone carcass with redline). I suspect front springs are original and need replacement.... other suggestions??

Did the tire shop have any of the bead-seating tools like the rubber o-ring "donuts" or tread compression straps? My dad and I had a heck of a time getting my 255/60/R15s to seat on my original 15x8 rally wheels, compressing the tread to bulge the sidewall worked in the end.
