Default Amp Power Question?

I recently ordered an poweracoustik amplifier 600 watt and it came with 200 watt amplifier kit wire set. is this going to be enough to function my amp. Or does the kit need to be the same wattage as the amp at least..Help me out here plz.

Can you give us the model of the amp you bought? First lets see what it puts out, and then we'll work it with the kit. At the very most you'll have to get heavier gauge battery power an ground wire.

Ok thnx...I actually just found some ground and power cables in my attic...i think there 4 gauge there alot thicker then the ones i got now. i could just use those and use the other wires and combine them right? such as the rca cables and the blue remote wire.

i didnt even see you replied when i posted that message. i was confused about what you were asking here 'Ok thnx...I actually just found some ground and power cables in my attic...i think there 4 gauge there alot thicker then the ones i got now. i could just use those and use the other wires and combine them right? such as the rca cables and the blue remote wire.'

i grounded my amp to the batt terminal. as for hiding wires, your on your own there.

I ran power and ground wires under the carpet to the battery. You just need to drill the wholes in the lip that the door panels screw into. Just align the hole with the door separator and you can drop right in. For the head unit and speaker wires, they were routed over the wheel well and then under the carpet along the door edge to the front - all in a plastic loom. I hid my amp in a custom built rear speaker bar - details here http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...ht=speaker+bar and it was part of a new carpet install so that made the job easier but could still be done otherwise.

Hey Big Foot,

Been there done that, for $58 this amp could probably run off of a lamp cord. You will have maybe 50 watts at best per channel. I do not mean to dog your purchase cause I went down the same path prior to getting a real "Infinity" Amp. Money well spent.

Cruise over to the audio section on this forum and there is plenty of reading and help there too.

Good luck, and I would hook it up and listen before I drill the first hole.
