Default hydroboost fitting wont work

Ok, so I have been waiting on backordered fittings for about six weeks now. The last one I was waiting on came today, so I started making my lines. Everything is already installed in the car, just waiting on the lines. After knocking dirt in my eyes for about 20 minutes I decided there was no way the fitting was going into the pump. I pulled the line out and tried fitting it to the old p/s pump and still no. The fitting part # is 612180 from summit. I got all the part #s from this forum. The fitting looks right, the threads look right, but it wont work. Any ideas whats going on here?

You need a power steering adaptor and a 90* Female hose end

Default General comment

on these threads about HB lines,

I fail to see the mystery over it, the stockish lines off the donor vechicle work fine with little modifications, and can be routed rather easy, the ends bent to fit the installs without much difficulty...

the stock stuff works well, why all the mystery over one fitting or another?? I just don't see it, really....

mine went in place with 1/2 daze work....still there using stock lines some 3 years later....

You cant tell me that you think those bent up "stockish" lines look as good as steel braded lines with anodized ends. If you have to replace 35 year old lines anyway, you might as well make it look good. Stock lines might function ok, but looks count for something too. That is why were are driving vettes and not gremlins! Thanks for the replys!

As they say Chrome does not get you home. To each there own. Some like Bling Bling and others want function. And some wish to have both.

For myself I am more of a function type of person but when I put my hydroboost in I will go with the braided rout since the junk yards are such a pain around these parts.

Hit up D-Boy as I am sure you got the part numbers from him he may just be able to help you out.
