Made my last licensing run today and I ran a 100 shot on that run.. My last run with a 100 shot was 9.57 @ 143 mph.. Today, I only ran 9.97 @ 135.50 mph. The car seemed to run awfully rich and when I purged the nitrous, the nitrous cloud was very transparent.. It used to be very white on my last run about a month ago. I weighted the bottle before I put it into the car and it showed 18 lbs (bottle weights 14 lbs empty), so I thought that I was good to go.. The bottle has been sitting in the hot garage for a month or so, so I wonder if it affects the nitrous if it's sitting for a long time? Is it possible that 4 lbs of nitrous in the bottle wasn't enough? What could be the reason for the almost transparent nitrous cloud?
I did flow the nitrous system before the run and set the correct fuel pressure, so I doubt that the nitrous tune was off...
Any input is appreciated!
As the amount of nitrous gets lower...there is a quicker drop off in pressure as you use more.
Years ago when I ran a lot of N20..it ws getting to be a PITA. I had 6 bottles I took with me to the track and had them all full before I left. Got pretty expensive and a lot of work. Should have bought my own refilling station.

I think you just ran out of juice!
Time to stock up!
We've been wondering where you've been.

Bottle pressure was 900... No need to heat up the bottle. It was sunny and in the mid 80's today with high humidity and 15 mph headwind..
Only got to make my last licensing run today as I was on vacation in Hawaii..
One other thing I have seen on cars with pressure over 1000psi and a new full load of N20 and blowing a clear cloud is the pickup tube in the bottle became unseated at the base of the head on the bottle. Probably not the case here but just something to consider. The bottle needs to be positioned correctly and the pickup tube functioning properly for everything to come together.
Get a full bottle, nitrous is hard to tune when bottle is low, cant keep pressure regulated, still a nice run, motor sounds good, low pressure, car runs on rich side. ----JON

The pressure was good, around 900 before and after the run.. The consistency of the nitrous seemed different.. In the video, you can't even see that I purged... it was so transparent..

Got any of those old bottles lying around ?? I could use a few more !! I only have 4. I use over two lbs. of nitrous in 5 seconds.
Ollie, to do it right, as others have said you need have full bottles. Nitrous can be very consistent if you have a full bottle for every run. I swap my bottle out every run. As the volume of nitrous in the bottle goes down you can keep the pressure up with heat, but there is no nitrous in the bottle. No doubt with only 4 lbs of nitrous in the bottle there was a serious performance decline based on that alone.

Congrats on the license
Thanks!! There's a Edelbrock bottle just like mine on Ebay for $75.. Seems like a good deal.. Will try to buy it!
