Has anyone been using that long one peice speaker box designed for Corvette? I cant remember its name but I seen it on the web before. How well does it sound and is there good bass? Can someone install a link to some info so I can check it out? Thanks
Are you referring to the Pioneer speaker encloser? I have them in my 75. I saw that Eckler's are carring them now. I think that they sound great. I made a bracket and screwed them to the back partition up high so my T-Tops would still fit.
I have seen that box and like it alot. I ended up building my own boxes for my 6x9's in the rear but if I had it to do over I would go with this box for a cleaner installation. I got my boxes for about $40 bucks and I think that part sells for around $200. It was a financial decision at the time. Let us know what you end up doing.
Eckler's and other aftermarket providers carry the speaker boxes you are interested in. They are not supposed to take up room in the rear storage compartment, but I can't see how they could keep from it. I've seen the Wal-Mart boxes. They definitely take up room in the rear.

I beat it, by half...radio shack has been doing thier year end clearance and I got the PAIR of 6X9 boxes for 10 dollah. :yesnod:
If you click on the link in my sig you will be taken to a page that shows some 8s in boxes in my rear compartment. Yeah, they are optimus speakers, but that's all I could afford at the time and they've been plenty loud for me so as long as they keep kicking I'm going to keep them. The boxes are nice though. They came with the speakers already installed, but they fit nicely in the back. I attached them with velcro and they've only fallen forward twice in 4 years and that's because I had to slam on the brakes to avoid close calls. I can also still fit my tops in the back with the boxes.
Thanks buddy. Maybe when mine is in one piece again it will be my favorite year again too. Right now everything that is actually running is my favorite year
