Default Carb Question

I have a 76 L48, stock bottom end and compression, I put a set of 202 heads on that have been gone over and opened up, headers, Comp Cam CS 268H-10 w/ .454 lift, 110 lobe sep., 218 duration cam and an edelbrock RPM Performer manifold. I have the stock Q-jet but I want to replace it with a holley. I read the paperwork that came with the manifold and for the one I have they recommend a 750 cfm carb. Reading info from Holley and on here, everyone says don't over carb an engine. My friends all disagree on the size too. Some say 650, others say 750. Any suggestions. I am a body guy and know enough about engines to be dangerous. I am going with a holley because the people that help me with the engine all run Holleys, know holleys have all the parts to tune, etc.

HELP!

hello I also am asking the same questions. I have a little larger engine than yours, a 383 stroker, but I am also wonder if a 750cfm Holley would be too big. Would I be better off with an 650cfm.. I guess the real question you are asking, How do you determine the amount of cfm's required by your engine?

600-650 VS will do it. Note that the 350 has been the post popular performance engine since 1968 & the Holley 600 is the most popular Holley.

Depends on the setup- more info. needed. Mild 383, 750 VS or 650 DP. Wild 383, 750 DP or more can be used.
