There was a set on Flee Bay a few days ago, I've seen one at a car show - they do look cool.

Default Carrier bolts

What condition are the bolts in you have? Are they all faded? Pics? Thanks
They are used but they are in good shape. I will get you a picture.
Thanks

The 80 L82 car I had came with the carriers. I used them in town without issues but was never brave enough to try them on the highway. They mounted the tops quite firmly, they probably would have been fine at highway speeds. They are pretty ugly mounted on the car without the tops on them.

I saw a Corvette for sale not too long ago that had the carriers with it, but they described them in the ad as snow ski carriers. I had to chuckle.

The Roof Carrier option was made in Canada. It was a dealer installed option. It was a GM part, and You could buy it across the parts counter. As far as I know no car left the factory with it installed, but if ordered with the car it came in the car, to be installed by the dealer. I ordered mine across the parts counter and did the install. The mounts that went into the Fiberglass were Plastic with a steel insert and I considered them the weakest part.

I carry my tops on my luggage rack all the time, it's a 77 and the system is a little different but I have no concerns after the first time I used them. They do make it tough to put gas in, as the tops cover the gas door.

The optional V54 roof panel carrier was installed at the factory (mounting points on the deck) and shipped with the car. They were not dealer installed options.

The chrome luggage racks were dealer options.

When I got mine it came with the drawings to show where to drill the Holes. It was all in a Box. The Straps to hold the Tops on had Canadian Maple Leaf decals on them.
