Hey guys. The rack and pinion from VB&P came today. No instructions in the box. I e-mailed them and they responded that they have no instructions. Am I missing something here? Theres instructions for an R & R for a rear spring but nothing for a totally new rack ? No torque specs? Nothing? Hmm. Maybe this isn't gonna be so easy. Anybody know if someones put their install on the net ? Or any help? I hate to rip everything apart and then start guessing where they want the brackets mounted. Maybe it'll be pretty simple once I get into it , but it sure woulda been nice to have "Something" before I start ripping and tearing.
Thanks guys. I went to the Steeriods site and they have 4 pages of instructions. And yeah they look alot like each other. Hopefully she'll be together by Sunday if it don't snow ( they're calling for a foot !)
Of course theirs looks a lot like ours. It's a copy of our design with small "changes". For that lower price and those changes you get incomplete support and no experience or knowledge as to how the design actually works. Normally I wouldn't have touched this thread but using our instructions underscores our expertise in this area. You can't make up for 7 years of installation and development experience by just copying something. With that said, I recommend you be very careful using our instructions. I have no idea the type or quality of fasteners that are used in their kit. Our torque specs may not match up at all.
I installed a steeroids last year on my 64 that I bought from VB&P and just purchased and installed VB&P's new kit for my 69 and they are the same. I was suprised they had no instructions with the kit, I didn't need one but if i wouldn't have installed one before it would have been very helpful. I've had Great sales and service from VB&P.
