Whenever I turn on my windshield wipers the washers also come on and don’t shut off. I’m wondering if I have the wires crossed at the pump. Can anyone tell me which side the yellow and blue wires go to (right side being drivers side)
If this is not the problem I’m thinking the switch. Any other thoughts.

If I wasn't in Ventura, Ca and my 73 in Sherman Oaks, Ca, I'd run out and check for ya. As it stands, I looked at the electrical schematic that I have saved on the computer and it shows a yellow and dark blue next to one another. It also shows a black, yellow, and light blue attached to the same motor, Looking at the schematic ( and I don't know how it's oriented as I don't have my car here) looking at it from left to right - appears like a 3 wire circuit consisting of black, yellow, and light blue (maybe 3 wire harness?) and then it shows two other wires separate from the other 3 consisting of yellow and dark blue in that order. Don't know if this will help at all. Sucks not having the car at my fingertips to look it over.

That answera my question.I do have the connections correct,I wll try the switch next. Hope you get to your car soon. Thanks Again
I believe the pair of wires, dark blue and yellow, are for the washer. Try unplugging them and then run the wiper. If it still runs the washer, then the problem is in the washer mechanism. If it doesn't run the problem is electircal. The yellow wire should have 12 v with key on. The dark blue gets grounded by the washer button to make the washer work. Somebody correct me if needed, but I think that system uses a small solenoid to engage the pump mechanically to the wiper motor, causing it to rotate and pump. I seem to remember this as a common problem on early 70's chevys, but I've been working on heavy equipment for 20 some years and some of the memories from being an auto mechanic are getting fuzzy.
