Carburetor Question
The car can be hard to start in the morning. Today, before I started the car, I looked down the throat of the carb and pumped the accelerator linkage several times --- small squirt of gas on the first pump got shot from the accelerator pump --- then dry. I started the car, shut the car off, then did the same thing --- but this time every time is pumped the carb, a strong shot of gas went down the throat of the carb from the accelerator pump. I'm guessing that somehow, when the car sits, the gas seems to leak out of the carb body and into the intake manifold so that the carb body is dry after several hours. This probably explains the strong gas smell I get in the garage when I run the car and let it sit overnight and I can't find any gas leaks anywhere.
Anyone have this happen to them or know what to look for before I pull the airhorn off the carb to see what's what inside my carb. This carb is probably 5 years old with 10,000 miles on her.
Thanks
