Default The correct push rods?

Does anyone know if the stock push rods on a 1976 L48 350 engine; are they harded steel so they can be used with harded push rod guide plates on a set of new heads? If not would you recommend using the stock push rods?

No, they are not hardened and you do need new ones to use with those guide plates.

These are the ones I use with guideplates.

GM Performance Parts #12495491 (available from Scoggin Dickey for $39.95). In my opinion this is a superior design when compared to the cheaper pressed-in ball end style.
