Default Pulling a Differential

Is there a sticky or writeup paper on pulling a Differential ?
I am pulling mine next weekend. Can you drop the pumpkin with the cross member still attached?

Thanks

Joe

Joe,
Dropping the diff with CM is the best way to remove it. Remove the exhaust, rear spring, tire carrier,1/2 shafts, frt joint, mark rods and remove, place support under the diff and remove the CM bolts. You'll need to pop them off the sombero mounts.
I'll PM you some info
Good luck on the job.

The diff bolts to the CM from the top
You'd have to make holes inside the rear cargo area directly above the 4 bolts to get them out

Best way is to drop them together

and the pry bar was the right tool to free the CM fro the sombreros

Wasn't that hard and I'm no verteran
Now getting it back together........................

I pulled my differential without dropping the cross member. Because I have a dual mount rear spring, I did not have to concern myself with dropping the spring to get at the two bottom bolts. I just removed the eight bolts and left the rear cover mounted. You have lots of room to get the top two bolts if you use a short stubby wrench. There is plenty of room to get the differential out, you just have to rotate it about 45 degrees counter clockwise.
