Default Carb Question, if that's the prob?

Noticed it the other day while on a drive. If I'm going say 60 and then floor it, if sound like it's choking. If I come up slowly it's fine. Are my secondary not kick'in in or a floater or needle somewhere messing up? 71' 270 hp with rodchest 4bbl.

Thanks.

The secondary air valve may be popping open and leaning the mixture out. You can adjust the air valve spring 1/8'th of one turn tighter and see if that helps.

This could also be an accelerator pump problem. The next time you start up from cold, open up the air cleaner housing and check for proper accelerator pump function.

You might also replace the fuel filter and check the air filter.
