Default Are all C3 headlight assemblies the same?

I've got a '70 with an eckler's one piece front clip and those daytona square headlight buckets. I have an opportunity to buy a complete set of '80 factory style assemblies. When I checked eckler's they sell 2 different part numbers for '68-'74 and '75-'82. What are the differences if any?

the inner front mount is different on the ranges you mentioned. On the 75+ the front mount is back further because of the rubber bumper mount design.

You would be able to us 4 of the 5 mounting holes, but not the front inside one as it would not "reach" to the 70's mount on the car (assuming the Eckler replacememet is stock without the Monza style lights molded in as one piece)

I could use those 80's on mine (you know... if you don't)

I'm sure I could fab up an adapter plate to make the last hole reach. I can only assume at this point the rest of the original style mounting points are there. The square light buckets only have 4 mounting points.

I feel at $300 I'm getting a great deal on them, the person parting it out even said I could stop by and pick out all the parts I want for the price, so I'm going to pick up all the vacuum stuff I can too...

The 75 - 82's have 5 mount points
3 across the upper back and 1 in each front corner

..not sure about the earlier ones.. (68-74) need someone who knows to chime in

the headlight assemblies for C3s are different. 68-74 are the same and then 75-82 are the same. They all have 5 point attachments. The differences are with the mounting bracket itself. The 75 + ones are much shorter and shaped differently. I am also betting there was a change in the nose and header bar arrangements and attachments too. I really don't know if you could fabricate an extension or something to mount the later tyle brackets into your early C3. Big risk at what they cost! If the ones you are looking at are a great deal then you might buy them and sell them here on the forum or on ebay and try to make a profit to get the correct assemblies for your car.

Well, I picked them up and installed one to determine how different things were. Seems the inside leg needs a 2 inch extension and a drop of about 1 to 2 inches. Other than that they'll fit like a glove, all other attaching points match. That way I can avoid modifying the part and also make them fit. The only difference seems to be the headlight support, all other pieces are the same.

Thanks for the info....
