Default Lunati Camshaft

I bought the Lunati VooDoo 60103 Camshaft because that is the cam that Lunati recommended for my setup.

Is anyone else running this cam? How is the idle? What is the vacuum at idle? Do you like it?

I have this cam on my small block 406. I haven't done all that much driving since the rebuild so can't tell how much I like it yet.

Idle is surprisingly smooth. i really expected a little more lope.

Haven't measured the vacuum yet (too many leaks at the time to make it meaningful), but it was sufficient to open the lights and run the power brakes, even with the leaks.

I just installed a Lunati 60140 in my 409 SBC.
It's a solid (I believe the 60103 is hydraulic?) and the specs are a little more aggressive (233/241 @ .050, .502/.520 lift) but this cam seem to work well in my motor.
A nice little lope and I pull 14-15" of vacuum at 850 RPM idle.

I haven't wrung it out yet but so far it seems to have a bit more punch than my old Lazer cam did. I think the 60103 would provide even better low end torque than the 60140.

My 2 cents

I will be putting it into a 350. The specs are duration@.050 227/233 lift .489/.501

HI Kevin,
Glad to see you have this motor coming together.

Just make sure you use 15W-40 for your break in and lube it up well with assembly lube. Those cams have some seriously aggressive lobes and will fail if not done correctly.

Check out this MySpace I came across for the idle. Just as a rough comparison, it falls between a comp XE268 and a XE274.

Scott thanks for the link. It sounds nice but it seems like it is idling kind of high.
